Wilson (Bill) H. Pryne has acquired AFFCO (American Felt & Filter Company) from its chairman of the board, Cornelius (Bud) E. Hubner, who owned the firm since 1978. Mr. Pryne has been president of the firm since 1996, having served in several key positions since joining the company in 1967 and being only the fifth president since the company was founded in 1899. Mr. Hubner will be retained as a consultant and will continue to serve as the chairman of the U.S. Business and Industrial Council, a Washington DC-based national business advocacy group.

A lifelong resident of Cornwall on Hudson, New York, Mr. Pryne is a certified scuba dive master, a member of the National Air Filter Association and the American Filtration & Separations Society. AFFCO has manufacturing facilities in Newburgh, New York — where the company is headquartered — and in neighboring New Windsor. A manufacturer of engineered nonwovens, AFFCO distributes its industrial fabrics worldwide for use in specific applications, including indoor air quality, respiratory protection, personal and equipment protection, process filtration, healthcare, and pollution control.
